چکیده

Introduction: Determination of malocclusion including individual tooth malposition is crucial during diagnosis and treatment planning. Along with anteroposterior mal-relation, there often the rotation upper first molars in Class II cases. Rotated not only occupy more space than normally positioned but also increase challenge for orthodontic treatment. Aims objectives: This study aimed to determine prevalence extent maxillary molar division 1 2 Material Methods: A total 142 pretreatment casts (71 71 2) cases were collected from Department Orthodontics People's Dental College Hospital. All scanned at a 200 dpi resolution teeth touching glass scanner (brother MFC-L2700DW model). Scanned pictures then printed without any change magnification. Measurement was made on those copies casts. To its severity method developed by Ricketts (Line Ricketts) used. Descriptive analysis carried out Microsoft Excel 2013. Result: In cases, 45 (63.4%) had right 47 (66.2%) left rotation. 33 (46.5%) while 34 (47.9%) Similarly, mean rotations 6.24 mm 6.77 respectively 4.82 4.94 respectively. Conclusion: The divisions assessed this study. Mesiopalatal observed commonly both divisions.

Extraction of maxillary first permanent molars in patients with Class II Division 1 malocclusion.

INTRODUCTION Our objectives were to assess treatment outcomes in Class II Division 1 patients who were treated orthodontically with extraction of the maxillary first permanent molars and to describe the changes in their facial profiles. METHODS This was a prospective, longitudinal, 1-group outcome analysis in a private practice, with outcome evaluation by independent observers at an academic ...

Assessment of first molars sagittal and rotational position in Class II, division 1 malocclusion.

OBJECTIVE This study assessed the anterior-posterior positioning of the upper and lower first molars, and the degree of rotation of the upper first molars in individuals with Class II, division 1, malocclusion. METHODS Asymmetry I, an accurate device, was used to assess sixty sets of dental casts from 27 females and 33 males, aged between 12 and 21 years old, with bilateral Class II, division...

Correlation between the Rotation of the First Molars and the Severity of Class II Division 1 Malocclusion

This study aimed to evaluate the potential correlation between the severity of Class II division 1 malocclusion and the magnitude of mesiopalatal rotation of the maxillary first molars. Scanned images of 104 cast models were grouped according to the severity of Class II malocclusion as follows: Group 1, 1/4 Class II malocclusion; Group 2, 1/2 Class II malocclusion; Group 3, 3/4 Class II maloccl...

Assessment of Maxillary First Molar Rotation in Skeletal Class Ii, and Their Comparison with Class I and Class Iii Subjects

Mesial rotation of maxillary first molar around palatal root is a most commen cause of class II molar relationship in class II subjects. Assessment of molar rotation is important because it utilizes 2-3mm of space in anteroposterior plane. There are different methods for assessment of its rotation which is very important in diagnosis and treatment planning of class II malocclusion. Cephalometri...
